I'm assuming that the work unit involves simulating the behaviour of a protein molecule in a certain situation. Just a guess, though.

liam_w says:

Lol, are you even playing your PS at the moment Mateo? You have been charging up the ranks!
I finished RFOM last night, what a good ending, but who the hell are the cloven?

08/08/2007 Benalla, Victoria

Xzadur8 says:

hey mateo, whats your name in F@H stats list?????

08/08/2007 Adelaide hills, S.A

mateo1 says:

my name is aimar120 on stats, xzadur8

Ye it was a top ending ay! liam The Cloven are very mysterious in Resistance they are said to be Russian and wear a russian uniform. They also are said to eat their own species but they are enemies to both, the humans and the chimera cant wait to learn my about them in Resistance: Fall of Man 2

My theory is that, the people who took you away at the end are the Cloven and that they are taking you to Russia to help fight against the chimera

Winnie says:

I won't be folding for a while, as my internet is capped. :/

Giving you poor souls a chance to catch up to me.

how do u mean capped? will it still let u download and upload data, but at a smaller speed? Or do u have to start paying big bucks for extra MB? If its the first, you'll be fine, but we don't expect you to pay your ISP big bucks if its the case of the second.

cheers - keep foldin guys! top jobs!

MyPS3 has the potential to be a top Folding@Home team, especially in Australia, where current Aussie leader Overclockers Australia team 24 hold 2nd spot overall - www.overclockers.com.au/

If we can keep gathering more and more users each day, the amount of processing power we contribute to Stanford's research will grow tremendously! Already, you guys are doing an awesome job! Your efforts are much appreciated.

Also, if you guys can, please install the software on your PC or MAC as well, every bit counts, and im more than happy to guide ppl through the process on MSN, just email me if your interested at lahmyaj@hotmail.com and i'll show you how to have the 5.04 console version run completely in the background, with no need to stop and start it.

lets get more promotion happenin and who knows, with initiatives like this goin round in other forums etc. maybe we can speed up this research and get more breakthoughs, bigger and quicker.

cheers - awesome job guys

Entice says:

I think it's not a very good idea to fold on PC Mac or Linux, since the PS3 can do what computers can twice the efficiency.

08/09/2007 Sydney

smASHer says:

Hey guys, just posted a good thread over at OCAU Forums, check it - forums.overclockers.com.au/

Entice said: I think it's not a very good idea to fold on PC Mac or Linux, since the PS3 can do what computers can twice the efficiency.

indeed they can fold more efficiently, but PS3 still lacks the flexibility of a PC. Its like PS3s and GPU folders makeup half the Folding@Home team, the guns of the team, specialized, whereas the other half is all PC's, flexible, can move to different positions etc. We need both halves to make the research work.

So guys if possible, plz consider just installing the program for your PC as well. It doesn't mean u have to leave it on 24/7, just use the computer as you would normally and it will run in the background, which unfortunately PS3's cant run in background yet.

Cheers

Yeah that would be sweet if Folding@Home could run in the background on PS3! Is there any plans for this?

its up to Sony i think, Stanford is already busy as it is just programming for PCs, Linux & MACs. Try to post in official Sony forums to try and lobby this idea of folding in the background, it would allow much more progress to be made, especially when playing piss-weak kids games.

your team is goin well guys, keep up the good work

08/10/2007 Kialla Shepparton, Victoria

liam_w says:

It cant really fold in the background because I think it uses up the whole CPU power. Thats the whole point of it using "idle" PS3's.
