Spider man 3 - 7/10
Spiderman, the game were you are free to roam around real landmarks of NYC fighting crime and super villains and lets not forget about winning the girl.
If you have played the previous spiderman games then you know just how free you are to do what you want. along from finding that huge building to jump off there are many different missions that can take place just by searching the city. You might find a wild cop and robber chase going straight past you, which is cool because it seems so real and there's no loading for those kinds of missions.
Free roaming aside there are always the main story missions that have to be followed to fully complete the story of the game. This part of the game was a real let down. In previous spiderman games there was only on e straight foward and fun story to follow and it was easy to keep up with the story line. But in Spiderman 3 they have put in 10 different short different story lines, one of those being the origonal from the movie.
Although this sounds cool it just makes things much more difficult and shallow. Since they had to break up the story line into so many peices you really cant follow them very well at all.
The controls have stayed the same with the swinging button being R2 and basic fighting being triangle, circle and sqaure. The fighting works well with new super moves and combo's at the touch of a button it's simple and easy to follow, but sometimes your so surrounded by enemies that all you need to do is button mash and dodging is nearly impossible.
The graphics are standard PS3 gragics which of coarse look great. The buoldings and land marks look great! Spiderman also has a great character model, but the citeziens are usually a bit lifeless. As well as a great cast of voice actors featering all the actors on the movie. It has a great tutorial system with a kind voice telling new time players exactly what to do.
Spiderman 3 has a great sound track that starts off low but gets more intense according what you do But it gets kind of lame in missions. It's just awesome in free roam which pretty much applies to this whole game 'it's awesome in free roam.'
There is no multi-player which is understandable but it has a good 20 hours of playing time for the people who are keen to complete all side missions.
Spiderman 3 is a great free roam action game with a great looking city and some fun fights. It could have had a better story line idea and also the camera was annoying but If You liked the previous series then you should deffinetely rent it and see if u like this.
