Well well well, it looks like something big is coming to Monument Valley. But what's the big thing that's coming, a festival? A concert? Nope it's an off-road racing competition that includes from bikes to trucks. MotorStorm is one of the first (off-road) racing games and surprisingly is one of the most popular games to hit the Playstation 3. Motorstorm is basically an off-road racing game where players are in control of seven different types of vehicles throughout the game. Each race requires the player to choose a particular vehicle type and often race against many of the other vehicles. Every track has many different racing lines, each catering to a specific class of vehicle thereby making the racing field even. The events in the game are created using real-time technology, such as the mud effects, tire marks, and crashes. Each track is filled with a variety of jumps, bumps, cliffs, ledges, mud pits, and other obstacles. Races are generally three-lap events with two to fifteen racers.
Tracks experience real-time deformation, which means each lap is different from the last. Larger vehicles can create large holes or leave ruts that can easily upset smaller, lighter vehicles, and every vehicle responds differently to different track environments. Vehicles like big rigs and mudpluggers get excellent traction in mud, whereas lighter vehicles like dirt bikes and ATVs will slip and slide.
Boost plays a large part in MotorStorm and is used to either catch up to opponents or pull away from them. Player's must keep an eye on their boost meter, which shows how hot the car's engine is. The longer the boost is held, the hotter the engine becomes. If the boost is held when the engine reaches its critical temperature, it will explode. Since explosions resulting from the boost typically rocket the player's car forward, they can be used to edge out another racer across the finish line.

There are seven different vehicles in which you can use, those seven vehicles consists of:
Dirt Bikes
-Lightweight, agile and thin. Bikes have a good degree of acceleration and average speed, but are vulnerable to damage.
ATV
-Similar to the bike, but heavier and bulkier. ATVs are more stable and durable, but not quite as agile.
Buggies
-A good combination of speed and ability to cross rough terrain, these vehicles are one or two seat space-frame contraptions, custom-built to rugged specifications.
Rally Cars
-Fast and relatively light, but limited by the types of terrain they can cross. Anything too rough or boggy and these will suffer. Made of lightweight materials, they are not very durable.
Racing Trucks
-These modified pickup trucks are powerful, heavy machines. Good ground clearance means they are capable of crossing rough terrain, but do not have the acceleration of the lighter vehicles.
Mudplugger
The biggest of the cars, these imposing vehicles have big wheels and heavy-duty suspension letting it deal with even the worst terrain. Speed is the biggest weakness.
Big Rigs
-Large, powerful and pretty much unstoppable. Low on speed and agility, but who cares when you can just drive over people?

Unfortunately Motorstorm does not have offline multiplayer mode which means you can't show off your cool skills to your friends, but there's finally "Time-Attack" which is basically Time-Mode to see how quickly you can finish a track. I just use this mode to practice tracks if i keep losing 
Besides just playing by yourself or practicing your racing skills on a track, there's always online! In online mode you play against 12 other players and if you win, you can get a rank. You don't have to win all the time to get a certain rank, you will get a rank also by depending on how you race, so don't quit if you are losing because that will hurt your chances of having a high rank.

Here are my results:
Graphics- 9/10
-The graphics are really great in this game especially when you have crashed and it's going in slow-motion.
Not only is the crashing great to see, but also the tracks since some of them real are thanks to the pictures that the developers took while making this game. I mean the rocky mountains are really beautiful and detailed which is surprising for me since the game only runs at 720p.

Story- 7/10
-So basically all you do is choose a vehicle, choose your track and start racing. That's all it is in this game. And what's even worse is that there's no offline multiplayer which can pretty boring after a week of playing this game.

Gameplay - 8/10
- The gameplay is pretty simple, yet fun. The crashes are also fun especially if you are riding a dirt bike or an ATV because you can actually see the driver fall off from a cliff or see their leg get twisted.
AHHH!!! THIS WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED IF I JUST STAYED AT HOME AND PLAY PS3 ALL DAY!!!!!!!!!
What i like about this game is that it's fast and that's just good enough for me

Sound -8/10
- The sound, eh.. not too bad, but you kinda ignore it because all you are is concentrating on wining the race. Besides the only time you do hear the background sound is when you crash because now you are concentrating on that. But luckily the game has some pretty sweet ass songs like "before i forget" by SlipKnot. If you are ever in the mood to crash cars and listen to great songs then i suggest playing this game

Well there you have it, my review for MotorStorm. I hoped you enjoying reading this and think it's decent enough since racing games can bore me sometimes and only did it because today was quiet since nobody was online today
