I think it will be good in the pacific. Also, we get to go to Europe anyway.

Anyone know the specific era the game is set? I know it's the Pacific War but, that's a big war.

everyone else who loved cod4, but doesn't plan to get this one, just think of it as CoD4 with a WW2 theme, exact same (if not, and probably better) engine, slightly different weapons of course with iron sights, but what do you expect, that they had ACOG scopes back in the WW2 era?
obviously not.
also part of the "theme" is new types of things, including the flamethrower, and different perks for multiplayer (yes i had access to the perk list, but lost the link, i'll try to find it ASAP) which includes the ability to climb trees, swim faster, etc...

so who cares that they're going back to WW2? (i know there are many )
when they obviously explainded why they're doing it, just the same reason that Rockstar decided to go back to Liberty City for GTA IV. its because they feel it hasn't been perfected, so once they have, they'll leave it alone.

The release of World at War will show the true CoD fanboys from the wannabes.

When the relaese date for this game, loved COD4, im worried that I will be let down by this game though! I see Infinity Ward are signed on to do COD6. I dont understand why there not doing NUMBER 5?? Any know the reasons why?

Couldn't agree more. They've become so generic now. It's all just shoot, follow objective marker....oh noes, tank battle! Rinse and repeat.
