When Bethesda Softworks was forced to make changes to its game by Australia's Classification board. Due to the use of real world drugs in the game. It was assumed that applied only the Australian version of the game, not so says Bethesda.
In an interview with edge, Bethesda's Pete Hines says “I didn't want people continuing to assume the version in Australia was some altered version when it's not.” Continuing he stated “There are no references to real world drugs in any version of Fallout 3.”.
So it seems that for once, every one has to deal with our archaic video game laws and censorship.
