Overview of Sony Announcements at GamesCon
Sony's GamesCon Conference was held earlier this morning and had gone for a total of 60 minutes. There were quite a few announcements made within that time limit and you can find them all below,
First of all,
Playstation Network Voucher Cards - Sony has revealed Playstation Network Voucher Cards will soon be shipping to Europe at either 20EUR or 50EUR. No price tag or release date was detailed for Australia.
Gameplay Videos - New gameplay was shown of many upcoming exclusives for the Playstation 3, like God of War III, Heavy Rain, Buzz, DC Online, Uncharted 2, ModNation Racers, EyePet and a few others.
Statistics Revealed - Sony has revealed a few interesting statistics relating to the Playstation franchise.
138.8 million Playstation 2 Consoles has been sold worldwide, with the PSP selling 52.9 million worldwide. Along with that, the Playstation 3 has sold 23.7 million consoles worldwide and the Playstation Network has gathered 27 million registrations. The Playstation Network has brought in $280 million worth of PSN Content. To be precise, the Playstation Network has sold 560 million items on the Playstation Network. Finally, HOME has been downloaded 7.5 times worldwide.
Home Content - Sony has announced new homespaces will soon become available with Interactive Dance Floor, SingStar, Video Juke-Box on the list.
PSN Video Service - Details have been released stating the PSN Video Service will be coming to UK, France, Germany and Spain in late 2009. Whilst Australia and others will have to wait until 2010.
New Playstation 3 Slim Announced - After a year of speculation, the Playstation 3 Slim has finally been announced and will be available on September 1. More details here: www.myps3.com.au/
