oh for the love of god bump this thread.

i cant wait for this game! i still remember when i got the original, the graphics were so good for back then that it ran like **** on my computer. i played it with about 4 fps for the first month until i got a better comp lol, and even at 4 fps it was still the most fun id ever had.

the first OFP was revolutionary for its time. the ai, graphics, massive maps and vehicles basically set the bar for war games back then. im pretty sure it won a tonne of awards too.
either way it has alot to live up to and they know it, and seeing they've waited 8 years to revive the series, id say it will be awesome.

WAT ! U never played Operation Flashpoint on PC? It was the best FPS because it was realistic military sim FPS it was so popular that the military use it to train soldiers to brush up their military tactics. But u can still buy the copy in most game shops and it won several video game awards.

Yea, I never did. Only shooters I played on PC was Counterstrike Source and the Call of Duty's ...

But that will change. I'll try out OF2 on PS3

I still play the 1st Operation Flashpoint on PC because it has a mission creator and also I have the Australian Defence Force mod with all ADF weapons, vehicles and australian maps.

A lot of multi-platform games have the same trophies / achievements as each other I'd expect to see the same list for PS3, minus or plus a couple though

Looking forward to this more than MW2 to be honest

Not necessarily better, but we have a lot of FPS games, Operation Flashpoint is just a different kind of shooter I think i need a change is all

There's even co-op and in online multiplayer, every player will have a AI squad for each player being the commander for the squad for example ur teamM8 can be a armour support while I can flank the enemy so alot of teamwork is involve and there is no more solo rambo style.

I've just read over on wikipedia that it only offers 8 players online (skrimish modes) versus the pc which takes 32 players!?? Although may be an unreliable source, can someone confirm otherwise.

Yep, that's correct.

8 People is the maximum for online play on the Playstation 3 whilst 32 players is the maximum on PC.

Im getting it on PS3 so i can use my bigHD flat screen and my sound system. It be good if the game has voice recognition like in Tom Clancey's End War so it be easier to command.
