Sorry to burst anybody bubble but...

1) There won't be any midnite launch for MGS4! Sorry, but it just doesn't have a big enough fan base compared to Halo or GTA! (though, that doesn't mean it's not as good if not better! But we all know the MGS series has a far more intriguing storyline, even if it's a little complex!

2) As there is supposedly only 2000 units of the LE version allocated to Oz, we can only predictably expect no more on the day of release! (as all units have already been allocated! Half probably for non-gamers who just want to profit from it!)

To complete my 'mission', I casually went back to JB (Chadstone) today to "steal" more pre-orders of the LE version! Unfortunately, I was disappointed with their reply. (with a Titanic sized EPIC FAIL!)

I was told that they were informed to stop taking pre-orders 2 weeks ago! As I only pre-ordered mine 2 days ago, I'm hoping that mine will be snuck in and delivered to me on 12/06 (even if I've already virtually paid almost the full amount for it!).

I'm sorry for failing this last mission guys, I'll have to move on with other hopes for other things MGS4! Unfortunately, another hope was literally brought down with the UK based website claiming pre-orders for the "Gun Metal Grey" PS3 the day after Konami stated that UK will not receiving such a collector's item! So Oz won't get that either!

THERE WERE NO OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS!!!

Neither Atari of EB said anything on their websites or any advertisements in any EB stores!

The only official pre-orders I know of are for the Standard Edition!

I only know of JBOnline offering the Saga2 DVD with the pre-orders! ($99).

Just remember MGS is a stealth game, apparently so are their "Pre-Orders"!!!

How did you know you could preorder...?

And Atari didn't release it for preorder. Stores just decided on their own to do it without knowing it would be so limited.

It may not be the end of the world...but it is the end of Old Snake!!!(*spoiler*)

In a way our LE version is more limited than the US LE version!

BTW, Play-asia just announced LE version Asian version (all in English)...though it's the same as the one US is getting! Should cost under $100AU! Though the Blu-ray disc won't be compatible will PAL PS3 as it is made for Region 3 disc (Oz is Region 4)!

Whoaaa! That's not very brotherly of you! Had ur friend not told you about the LE, you may have missed out aswell! You prolly got ur pre-order over a month, but like you it's also a matter of luck! I (possibly) got lucky in pre-ordering one just two days ago! The guys here have been crying about it since the start of the month! I don't think anybody else got a pre-order just recently!

And I'm guessing you're gonna pay more the $150 for you copy at EB. MINE will be $149 from JB!

It's called irrational love. I missed out on lots of Metal Gear related stuff in the past and this is pretty much the highpoint of the series and I miss it too. Makes me rage hard. MGS is probably my favourite video game series (FFXII made FF drop down from no. 1) and I wanted to get the full experience of Snake's final mission. But then it got all ****ed up.
