I was in EB again today, asking for any promotional stuff they don't want, all their posters had been claimed though. The manager however said that Atari apparantly have a whole heap of these posters lying around their HQ that no store bought, so they're apparantly now considering giving them away to people who pre-order the game.

I have Rang up my local JB and they have told me that people who have pre ordered the Game accidentally after they stopped will be Refused on release date and will be offered the Standard edition or a Full Refund.

The Guy at JB told me there is a Very small chance that Atari may decide to give more stock, But nothing is Confirmed yet and everything is Still rumors.

Well to be honest they really should rectify this epic ****-up. EB should try and get Konami to give us more copies because they are mainly to blame here.

Yeah, the person who answered was very nice and offered to keep me updated if anything new happens. But she did confirm that they are sold out for now, but said that Atari are trying to get more units.

im pissed!!! i pre order da limited edition back in april then i call them just to confirm and they told me u only pre order standard edition i was so ****in pissed!!! i went off at em then he told me theres a gta4 special edition. so i went to my eb asap. trade normal gat4 plus edge card total $84.00 so that kind of ease my mind.
im hunting everyday for le mgs4 DONT GIVE UP!!!

Why did they even mention GTA4 SE?? That totally off topic!! But it's good that they offered the SE to you although...you may have gotten ripped off BIG TYME!!!
If you initially got GTA4 from EB and paid $120, then gave them an extra $84 after trading the standard GTA4...that would total to $204!!! That would be the most trade in rip-off I've heard of so far! I mean, after launch the SE were widely available in JB, EB and HN for $150!
Mate, if what I just said is close to the truth then you may want to reconsider what you just did! You're better off selling the game, then buying the SE afterwards...though you'd better be quick before your games value goes down!! Tell me I'm waaaay wrong! Please.

Thats pretty ****ed up. I mean, someone who has pre ordered before you will end up missing out if you get a copy. Might just be me, but thats low. Sure there was a snafu from Atari/EB/GAME/JB for not anouncing it, but that doesnt mean you should take someone else's copy if you can.

Dude, if my pre-order comes thru I'll never knw how that may happen!? I have no control over this, I may or may not get lucky!
Who knows, maybe somebody cancels their order? or Konami makes a little more? (they're not individually numbered) or somebody just humanly stuffs up the distribution? The fact is we'll never know how!
You can speculate all you want, but don't try to blame me for something I can't control! Would you blame a millionaire if they won $10 million? They may not deserve it, but they got luckier than a struggling family who used their last $5 for the week to try their luck!!
There's is nothing I can do to guarantee my pre-order (unless I bribe JB, but that would cost me alot more!). I'm not cheating, stealing or anything...I'm just going to wait patiently and see what the outcome will be.
If I miss out, I won't take out my 'rage' on JB or anybody. Sure it'd be JB's fault for taking my order, but that would just be human error! But I know I'll still have a great experience playing the game!

Interesting idea, but if they happen to give in and give me a copy then somebody who pre-ordered before me will miss out! As for the discount, somehow I don't think they will...they'll just sincerely 'apologise'! 
Though, I'd better get the Saga2 DVD with the standard copy! 
Anyway, I don't want to be '8 balled' from there, I'm a regular anonymous customer! I may be getting an LCD TV from them, where I would appreciated the discounts and freebies alot more!
But thanks for the thought.
