unless there's some sorta copy protect thingy.. where you can copy off a RB disc once? and you're denied copying again after that initial copy? you never know what they might do

Don't know if they are the same colour. Whats the point of having 2 cymbals that do exactly the same thing?
Looking at pics, it look like it's yellow and orange. Very similar probably to help people identify that it's a cymbal note. So looks like it will be 6 different notes.
Yeah just checked again , its definately 2 cymbals, my bad, one yellow one orange , 3 pads plus pedal makes it 6 notes in total, think ill be better with RB LOL , the more notes the harder it will be.

So, will EA forget releasing rock band 1 in australia and skip straight to 2? at least for the bundle? I'll be very upset if they make us wait 12 mths to get the decent equipment, whilst selling us the crappier rock band 1 guitars etc.

Unfortunately, i think RB1 will be scrapped for Australia, since gamestop haven't received there backorder for Rock Band 1 equipment for what seems over 2-3 months now. I wouldn't be surprised if production has stopped on the first one and it's production has got underway of the new version.
BUt since only the xbox360 version is slated for a september release this year, and probably christmas for the ps3 version. I can't see Australia getting RB2 anytime soon either.

I think there was even a hint or a rumour that there are Australian artists in Rock Band 2. It would make sense if RB2 comes out here in Aus, and RB1 is scrapped ...

hint? is that from that IGN interview with Dan Teasdale(spelling?)? i think there's ACDC and INXS in there, but he was referring to the newer acts that we frequently hear on triple j

I dare say you can lock in AC/DC for Rock Band 2. It's pretty mucha certainty i reckon. And maybe silverchair (big in US aswell)

RB1 is back in stock at gamestop, I just ordered it, now Ill just get the RB2 by itself when Im in America in November.

I'd prob get it but I'm concerned if I download content for RB 1 using an american store, that that content wont work with RB2 if I purchase it in australia, or a pal version.

Well Ill just get the NTSC version of RB2 now anyways as it will be released there way before RB2 gets to Australia.

MTV takes a stand on 'Rock Band'
"Rock Band 2" was widely expected, though MTV and developer Harmonix surprised the biz by also announcing a deal with Microsoft to release the game exclusively for the Xbox 360 in its first few months.
MTV only said "Rock Band 2" would be available for Sony's PlayStation 2 and 3 and Nintendo's Wii "later this year," which most likely means in November or December to give them a brief sales window before the holidays.

EDIT: Although, looks like the cymbal will clip onto the existing RB1 slots aswell. So maybe just buy a cymbal add-on

Yeah definately the one in teh gameinformer article is a V2.0 and looks very schmick.
