Playstation 3 Sales Increase By 999% in the UK

With the release of the PlayStation 3 120 'Slim', PS3 sales have increased by an astonishing 999% in the UK within the last week; however, no exact numbers were revealed.

Director of Chart-Tracker, Dorian Bloch, recently told gamesindustry.biz,
"The uplift on week 36 on week 35 is plus 999 per cent. We don't give out the hardware numbers, but never-the-less it's a very large increase."

Earlier this year Andrew House, President of Sony Computer Entertainment, had told gamesindustry.biz what they think the re-designed PlayStation 3, along with the price cut, will do: "I think what I've heard anecdotally is that this is the point people were waiting for - a redesigned model and, in Euros, a significant price reduction. That's people's cue to jump into the business."
