After a bit of hassle with card issuer address not matching billing address (I didn't enter unit in front of my flat number :/ ) Rock Band arrived this morning from gamestop

Considering they only sorted the order issues last friday that's pretty good turnaround (esp as I missed the delivery yesterday)

Recommend gamestop for ordering this if you can handle the "shipping address must be same as billing address" requirement.

Best measure of its worth is this - if I suddenly lost it, would I buy it again at the same price - YES!

The RB guitars look great, but are a bit ordinary performance-wise (have both types - the original reed switch strum bar which needs adjusting / repairing every 5 hours or so & the newer, magnetic switch strum bar which is less accurate and tends to 'double strum on Hard & Expert levels) BUT have just got hold of a Nyko Frontman guitar that handles both RB and GHIII and whilt its a bit 'plastic-y' its very precise but kinda expensive to import right now from the US).

Biggest bummer is the inability to buy & download the great array of additional songs from the PS US site (tried with a friends US credit card but even that didnt work) but hopefully the PSN Card will be available in the US soon (and available on EBay) so they can be bought.

Long storey short - Rock Band isnt cheap, but its sensational (and right now there doesnt appear to be a firm OZ release)

Still pretty pricey when you consider it was only $243AUD inc delivery to get from gamestop.

Stick....read through this thread, there are instructions on how to purchase the DLC.

Have had a chance to use the FRONTMAN guitar and it really is more precise - takes a bit of getting used to (I've been using hairbands either side of the fret buttons for tactile 'stops') but now I can only whinge about my inability, not the equipment.

I ordered from gamestop. You may be having the issue that your mailing address is different from your billing address. There was bit of emailing back and forth between me and them but when i got it sorted it came in 3 days.

Unless your order is over $1000 Australian, you will not get charged any customs duties.

Are there any people in Sydney looking to purchase the Nyko Frontman or the drum silencer pads? If so, I would be interested in hearing from you so we will be able to save some dollars if we band together and purchase from Gamestop coz single guitar costs US $29.99 to ship while two cost $34.99

I am happy to place the order on my credit card but I would need deposits because I dont want to get stuck with more than 1 of these suckers.

The Pink is an interchangeable face plate that can be used instead of the black or white plates from what I understand. So its not all pink.

The Red box is the USB dongle that is similar to the one used on Rockband.

EB Games should have them for sale this winter. I contacted Nyko & they informed me they would be stocking the Frontman soon in Australia in EB stores.

Quick question, does anyone who has rock band have an issue with triggering the energy on the guitar?

For some reason mine is really random, sometimes if I'm sitting down and leaning back it'll go off automtacally, others I'll be waving the thing around like a maniac and get nothing.

Have fallen back on using the select button to trigger it but then i end up losing notes as i try to find it
