I like how the article just seems to assume that Guitar Hero:World Tour will be available in Australia at the end of the year.
I haven't read anywhere that Guitar Hero: World Tour is coming out anywhere but America this year.

Havnt read that it is not either. Seeing as a lot of people already have guitars, supply wont be as bad. A lot of people will just want to get the game first, to see what it is like before forking out for intruments.

Then - one thought would be:
Get the RB disk for the PS3 (around 100 bucks from US)+ x2 ANTCOMMANDOS PS2 to PS3 converters (would work out roughly just over 100 bucks with post from US) and rock on that way.
Any USB mic will do.
Then, if you realise it really IS that good, import the drums from GAMESTOP later on.
Then again, if for less than 300 bucks you'll drop a guitar but pick up the drums and mic for the bundle from GAMESTOP.

This thread runs through a lot of common problems with RB, and a number of fixes from the author and a few others. Definitely worth a look.
It would make sense for all older GH guitars to be compatible with GH-WT, I can't see why the developers would stop their own peripherals from being compatible ??

Have you guys heard of that 'fix' where you use 6 nickels for your drums? Was the idea to insert the 6 nickels BEFORE your drums lose its sensitivity, or after?

In the article, he refers to adding a bit more 'pre-load' to the return spring under each drum skin ? ( or something along those lines) - this would normally only be done once the spring in question has been worn out from use. So I reckon the mod only needs to be done once the drums have been used, and used a lot.
If you add the extra pre-load to good springs, it will only wear them out quicker....and then the mod will need to be more than the thickness of a nickel....
It sounds like an easy mod to do...and I really liked the reference to *Roadie Hero* !! 
- every real band always mods instruments, set-ups etc, its just normal. Why should RB be any different ??

i just got an email back from gamestop telling me that they should have there stock from the manufacturer very soon.

Well they have been without stock for over a month, so i would imagine it would be coming in shortly. A big company like that wouldn't be without stock for very long. Here's hoping the next couple of days.
And once it's in and processed, it onyl takes about 3-4 days to get here. So it's almost time.

Well it doesnt look like my Rockband Game & Drums I purchased off ebay is ever gonna arrive so Ive lodged a dispute with ebay & the seller has said he will claim the insurance & give me a full refund to my paypal account. So now my options have changed since hearing about the GH-WT which I wasnt aware of 2 months ago when I paid for RB.
I could put the money Ill get back from the refund into a brand new RB bundle at gamestop when stock is back in or wait for GH-WT. In a perfect world Id just have both but I dont want two sets of drums sitting around the house. Gonna have to take a few days to mull it over.

HEY crazynites why don't you get rockband from gamestop and then if you want to get GH-WT when it comes out just sell rockband just b4 GH-WT comes out and use that money to get it.

Well gamestop have the item back up on their site for backorder, which you can purchase. And as batesy said above he got an email from them saying their getting stock in very shortly, so it could be the best option. and GH:WT hasn't been announced for australia yet? So you can't be sure you won't be looking at delays like Rock Band Anyways.

nah i got just the drums & game for that price, was planning on using my singstar mic & buying a nyco frontman guitar later. Was $85 & $50 postage.

I doubt it. Those American sellers usually ship through USPS registered post, but the tracking service isn't as good as UPS or Fedex.

I asked if he could provide tracking but he said he couldnt at the price he qouted me for postage ($50US). It was sent with USPS not UPS, & he reckons postage ended up costing him $71, I dont know if I should believe him but he had virtually 100% feedback on ebay & has sent to Australia before. Im gonna keep an eye on him & if I see the game & drums back up for sale Ill be pissed. He said he could only confirm with me if the item arrives as I would have to sign for it.
