Btw Sstick98, can you confirm that the pink part is just a faceplate thing which you can replace with a White or Black one?

To be honest if I received the goods in Sydney they would then have to be shipped to you in Brisbane at an additional cost and it would probably work out much the same or even dearer than importing one of the units.

Try seeing if anyone in the Brisbane area wants one and wants to go halves in the postage. Then buy two and make the sale in person.

Pink faceplate is an extra thats included with the packaging - you can swap the supplied white one with the pink if thats your preference.

FRONTMAN takes a bit of gettting used to, but is a great addition to RB as a second guitar

- the 'green note' reference is the green (first) fret note - you guys will see what I mean if you get one - I never realised the 'dip' in the GH guitars really does help locate your fingers when your changing between 'note ranges until I got the FRONTMAN that has a 'flat' neck - that is, I prefer to either have 4 fingers located from the green note e.g. G-R-Y-B and stretch the 'pinky finger' to 'O' orange occasionally if the song generally stays on the low note register OR shift my hand up one note so that my fingers rest R-Y-B-O and stretch my pointer finger 'down to the 'G' green note if its used less frequently.

Found if I moved back my hand to the G-R-Y-B position I'd 'overshoot and be tapping at the top of the neck instead of the green note - simple fix is a headband, but I've recently glued a bit of carbon rod as a 'bump-stop' which seems to have sorted that problem for me.

Had NYKO email me with the same infor re supply - they dont ship to OZ - but suggested EB will stock them locally 'soon' - I wonder, tho - if RockBand doesnt see OZ shores for some time yet (or even at all) - will EB bother with the FRONTMAN guitars?

Sure is - the recent RB patch included a MUSIC STORE at the bottom of the lobby screen that takes you directly to the DLC content - its an excellent additon as you can preview a 15 sec segment of the song as well as see what songs you've already purchased + a bar chart of the song's difficulty for each instrument as well as at band level.

Just make sure you re-calibrate your TV after the patch is downloaded - for some reason the RB update patch plays havoc with calibration settings when its first downloaded - for instance, my TV requires +25ms delay, but it changed to -15ms after the patch installed - good news tho - you only have to adjust it back the one time.

Theres a good chance that any DLC released on the AUS PSN wont work with a imported version of RockBand (GH3 DLC has to be purchased from the same region you got the game so RockBand will proberly be the same) so if you import you would need to buy all DLC from the US PSN. I doubt there will ever be any Aus specific DLC but you never know, Singstar has released some Aussie artists but none on GH3.

Having said all that, a way around that problem would be to import the game, then if it does get released here, sell your copy of the game only on ebay & buy the Aus version & use it with your already purchased drums, guitar & mic.

Id like to think so but I dont believe we will see RockBand til after Europe. We will just have to wait & see what happens. Ive purchased RB from ebay but still waiting for it to arrive.

Thats not too bad I suppose, its $170US for the bundle so they charging you about $100 extra so they making a nice profit as they would of got them shipped in bulk which wouldnt of cost them as much as we pay to ship one bundle at a time.

I payed $145AU for the game & drums on ebay including shipping, Ill just use my singstar mics & buy a Nyko Frontman guitar that works with GH3 & RockBand.

If you buy the full bundle on ebay your looking at around $300 so if you really want the game then $275 is proberly a good price. I was gonna suggest using gamestop.com as its only about $230 including shipping but the site now says not for sale so they either out of stock or no longer selling the bundle.

BTW - friend of mine is in charge of EA distributions here on the GC - he's not optimistic about RB ever being released in OZ due to the high attrition rate of peripherals (guitar, drum pedal)- its only guys talking, but he'd know . . . . and the release date seems to vary wildly between OZ game shops that still think its coming . . . .
