. . . finally cracked Flirtin With Disaster on the weekend on Hard after umpteen millionth attempts - damn that solo section is tough . . . got the Gold Guitar award

My only other nemesis (on Hard) is now Shockwave . . . . more hammer-off practice me thinks . . .

For the guys struggling with the DLC payment routine - checkout Wutang01's excellent summary / how-to on MyPS3.

Once youve been through it once, its very simple BUT its kinda daunting first time 'round tho - but well worth the effort (who doesnt wanna have a go at playing My Sharona?)

i think so.. the one to get RB DLC. from reading this thread and chatting to you, i've kinda picked it up already:
1) create US PSN account
2) create Entropay virtual CC, with an american address, link it to my aussie CC, load funds into my virtual CC
3) play the game with my US PSN, and i can buy dlc easily

am i right?

heh heh - congrats OzTek - worth it, hey?

Sound washout? - have you tried experimenting with the effects switch on the guitar? Sounds kinda like youve left it on Wah Wah effect which does have a sort of muted / wavy sound.

Other thing - have you set BASS OVERDRIVE in the options menu yet?

CLOSE - try this:

1. Set up PSN user profile / id (seperate t youre current one) and give it a fake US address (any street name & no. will do - just match the Suburb with the Zip Code - e.g. Beverly Hills 90210.

BTW - this isnt a dodgy way of scamming stuff - its the ONLY way to connect to the US PSN since the PS sends you to the country specified in your User account thats logged on.

2. Log onto to the US PSN with your US log on, and check you can see the US PSS.

3. Sign up to a virtual CC company - I, Wutang, DiscoMark and others have used Entropay.com with success. Basically you

OK - now youre panicking that youve opened yourself up for a huge internet scam / ripoff (just kidding - but I'll bet thats how you'll feel at first - I know I did ) Entropay will forward you an image of the virtual CC you can use along with a summary of the available funds on it - write down the details on the virutall CC EXACTLY as they appear (including the CVV 3 digit no.) - remember, the name of the virtual CC is ENTROPAY USER - thats what you have to enter (along with the relevant numbers) when you use it to laod funds into your US PSN wallet. - this is usually where people go wrong . . . .

5. Log onto you PS using your US id, and go to Transaction Management - follow the prompts but REMEMBER - enter the Entropay details EXACTLY as they appeared on the image you were sent, including the name Entropay User. Once completed, you will see the amount in your US PSN wallet

Points to Note

- the DLC is downloaded to the HDD on your PS3. This means its bought and downloaded via your 'fake' US id BUT is avaliable for all your profiles / id's on your PS3 (i.e. you dont have to play RB using your fake US profile.

- the Music Store in RB will show PURCHASED on all songs if you log in with your AU profile - doesnt mean you scored a favour - its just how the Music Store deals with an AU profile looking at the RB songs that arent, technically, available in AU yet. You have to log in with your fake US profile to access your USD funds in your US wallet, and using the fake US profile / id, the Music STore will then show which songs you have actually purchased.

I realised it must be the effects switch on the Nyko Frontman after I posted this message. I don't know what the various effects are though... anybody got any info on it?

I've been turning the Bass Boost on and off while I've been messing around with settings to try and stop the distortion.
