no Vinzor I pulled that off PALGN.com.au release dates. Apparently the guy at EB told me that they needed a new factory to put all the Rockband bundles in because the boxes were so big or some ****.. But the bundles were coming to Australia in June though.

placed the order. no stock at the time so I am waiting for Gamestop to replenish their stock.

Oh what the crap! At the time I placed my order, it said "Shipped within 24 hours" or something.

I just had a look, and it's now Backordered now ...

Reason why EA is delaying Rock Band in Australia is because of the popularity of the game in USA. There was problems satisfying the demand with enough supply. They don't want demand/supply problems in Europe/Australia as well.

Obviously EB has no idea when its coming in - or that guy was simply BSing ya. BTW - the EA distribution cente at Helensvale on the GC is massive.

Think you will find that the PAL version has only just been finalised and released in the UK. Once the UK settles down and they keep up with stock levels there THEN (like always) Australia might get a look in.

Just as aside tho - some guys are getting RB from Gamestop for around 300 bucks (now) and it works absolutely fine on the PS3 (thanks Sony) so why wait if you really want it?

I'd be surprised it will be under $300 if and when it does finally see an OZ release - GH3 was $170 and you still have to factor in the drums and mic on top of that.

Think you'll find that EA are concerned about the high attrition rate on the peripherals (guitar / drum pedal) and thats also a factor in the delay here . . . . the guitar is easily self-fixed, and if you dont stomp the crap out of the bass pedal, theres no drama

And yes - its worth the 300 bucks easily . . . . . if i start playing it - almost without fail - theres knocking on the door and half the neighbourhood fronts up to join in.

Damn - Jeffers is 110% spot on there . . . .if its obtainable for $250 theres absolutely no need to wait. Besides - theres no way EB will on-sell it for that low a price anyway

But yes - first time pairing the FRONTMAN is a pain . . . after it recognises the sender unit the first time, it hooks up instantly, even when theres more than one FRONTMAN in the room (had 2 playing at once).

Best method (I found) was:

1. start PS3 - plug in receiver. The green LED at the top of the unit will flash.

2. Switch receiver unit to RB (centre dial - the outer ones are dummies for appearance only) and start RB on PS3.

3. Push connect button on the guitar - the connect button will flash as the guitar powers up.

4. Press the connect button on the receiver (the big black square on the top thats supposed to looked like a stomp pedal) - the green LED will blink rapidly.

5. Quickly press the connect button on the guitar - it should hook up after 1 - 2 secs. If not (and this happened to me the first time ) keep pressing combos of the receiver connect button and guitar connect button - eventually it will bind (mine did . . . )

Once its bound the first time, its all good from there - you simply plug the receiver unit in and then tap the guitar connect button and it hooks up instantly - different frequency (colour on the connect btton on the guitar) for up to 4 FRONTMANS in the one room.

Guitar is also Auto-off. Just hang it up when ur finished and it switches itself off after 5 mins or so.

Be patient and persistent. Thought I had a dud one when I first tried.

In that year acitivision has seen rockband, taken there ideas started on guitar hero 4, and at this rate, we will be able to buy that before we ever see rockband. So any interest i might have had in this game is gone, i will wait now for guitar hero 4 , and then at least i wont have to buy a new guitar.

Nightphant and I bought ours from the ebay seller "pressstartinc" in the US.
