I got mine the other day, thrashed it for a bit but on the weekend I'll get some mates over and have a 4 player session.
How are you guys using all the USB ports? My ps3 has 2 ports on the front, can I just get any USB hub thingo or what?

That's right. Just get 2 USB Hubs so that you have 8 ports in total or something.

the peripherals (guitars) are independently powered (batteries) and the drum & mic are slave-powered (via USB) but none of them require recharging, as such, so any unpowered 4 port USB hub will do (and wont affect lag)
ALSO - while I think of it . . .
I'm sure all you guys with RB have had experience with Guitar Hero but just in case - check the CALIBRATION menu in RB and adjust for any lag if your using anything but a standard CRT TV - for example, my copy of RB needs around 25ms of delay for the LG LCD TV I use it on.

Mine should be arriving today, but definately by tomorrow, it arrived in AUS yesterday. Who knows how long it'll take to go throught cutoms and up to the Gold Coast

it took 1 day, unless it end-up in 'Border Security' shows... 
...I had it delivered from US to Melb in 6 days thru USPS. I guess below info help you and others that have the same question....

Well mine was apparently shipped express international shipping USPS. And it was shipped last wednesday. So thats 6 days today including weekends

RB1 instruments can be used with RB2, from what we've read so far?

i'm looking at the usps web site and it kinda says otherwise..

that calculation is done for a RB bundle (approx 20lb) and the cost for regular shipping is US$110. US$130 for express.
if you guys got your package abt 6-7 days after, then it must be normal priority mail.. which is still pretty quick

nope... either guitar from each game is not cross compatible. you can, however, buy the Nyko guitar that can be used on both games:
